1. Program Policy on Accommodations and Inclusivity
Our program is committed to supporting families and children who may require additional accommodations, including those related to home language, differing abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
Parents have the right to be informed of all procedural safeguards and rights of appeal in clear, easily understood language, including their primary language. If you or your child requires any accommodation, please notify the Director. We will work collaboratively to ensure that appropriate support and resources are provided to meet your needs.
Our Program’s Partnership with Families Includes:
- Providing space to accommodate therapy sessions during the day as needed.
- Participating in all comprehensive care meetings when appropriate.
- Requiring supporting documentation from an authorized medical professional for any accommodation related to a child’s physical or developmental needs.
- Offering materials and resources in the parent’s or child’s primary language.
- Promoting cultural inclusiveness through annual cultural events and celebrations.
2. Child Assessments
Our program uses developmentally appropriate informal assessments to monitor each child’s progress and guide individualized lesson planning:
- Infants & Toddlers (0–35 months): Assessed using the Infant & Toddler Developmental Checklist.
- Preschool (Ages 3–5): Assessed using the CIRCLE Progress Monitoring System (Pre-K).
- School-Age Children: No formal assessments will be administered.
Assessments are conducted monthly, excluding school-aged children. Results are shared with parents during conferences or upon request. Teachers use this data to improve instruction and help each child achieve developmental milestones.
3. Classroom Transitions
When a child is ready to transition to a new classroom, we strive to make the process smooth and positive. The transition decision will be made collaboratively among parents, teachers, and administrative staff. We recognize that each child is unique, and transitions will be adapted based on the child’s temperament and readiness.
